Andy Heslop shared Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station's photo to the group: Chester Sub-Aqua Club. ... See MoreSee Less

Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station needs your help! On December 3rd 1920, five of the thirteen man crew of the Rhoscolyn lifeboat Ramon Cabrera were drowned in Caernarfon Bay in an attempt to rescue the crew of the Whitby registered SS Timbo, during which the lifeboat was twice capsized. A memorial to the five stands in the St Gwenfaen Churchyard in Rhoscolyn. These brave men were: Evan Hughes (34) and Richard Hughes (18), the sons of Edward and Mary Hughes, Cymyran. Owen Jones (38) the husband of Lizzie Jones. William Thomas (18), the son of Moses and Mary Thomas and Owen Owens (61) husband of Mary Owen of Pant y Llin, Trearddur. The memorial in the past has been looked after by the crew of the Trearddur Bay Lifeboat, however it now needs some extra TLC, we are looking for a donation of 3-5 Tonnes of black gravel so that we can restore the memorial to the condition befitting these five lifeboatmen. If anyone can help or point us in the right direction please let us know. You can message us on this page or phone the station on 01407 860020. You can read more about the SS Timbo using the link below: www.rhiw.com/y_mor/shipwrecks/timbo/timbo.htm Please share and thank you!

A really good event to consider, and it's run by one of our club members - who will be looking for volunteers to help put up and after the event take down hundreds of tents. Good fun, get involved. ... See MoreSee Less

The Good Life Experience 2017

September 15, 2017, 2:00pm - September 17, 2017, 12:00pm

Now in its fourth year, The Good Life Experience on the Hawarden Estate, Flintshire is absolutely unique. Founded by four friends –Cerys Matthews MBE, Steve Abbott and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone- if it fits in with their idea of The Good Life, it features at the festival. Expect to pitch your tent in the shadow of two castles, great locally produced food, axe throwing, foraging, campfire cooking sessions with world class chefs, mass sing-a-longs, over 40 expert craftspeople, comedy, beer served by experts, talks by explorers, a canine circus, raucous music, abseiling, a free 1930s fairground, tree climbing, butchery displays, poetry, literature – including a talk from former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen- and endless How To… talks. And everything is aimed at adults and children alike; there aren’t many festivals that truly do that. Under 12s go free. Dogs welcome. 15 minutes from Chester
